REPLAY THURSDAY is an opportunity to keep writing between Seven Day Challenges. Write another song using these words and feel free to share it with us!
Folks who do improv often play a game called “Questions Only” where participants only ask each other questions. You might ask me: “what’s the weather like outside?” and I would answer “what’s it to you?” And we’d pursue this line of questioning until one of us gave in with a peal of laughter. Today, I’d like you to use the technique of questions only in a song. Use it in a chorus to hype up confusion, or use it during your verses to give your chorus something to answer to. Heck, if you’d like, use it in your chorus and your verse to really up the anarchy in your song. An example might look like: Are you sure you cannot stay? Is there anything I could say? And how can you understand with your head in the sand? Can you even hear me? If you want to pack it in and you won’t even listen-- then how can you hear me? Good luck!
